A quick 26 day session in the Saskatchewan legislature concluded Thursday.

Due to the current economic downturn the SaskParty Government didn't have much promised in spending, they do say they continued to keep Saskatchewan strong.

"We did however keep most of the promises we did make," Humboldt-Watrous MLA Donna Harpauer gleamed. "That includes increased investment in highways and introducing the First Home Plan that allows young people to use up to $10,000 of their Graduate Retention Program credits towards the down payment of a new home."

$2.1 million was awarded through that program, a number the government is happy about.

"It was great numbers," Harpauer boasted. "It was kind of interesting, within 17 minutes of putting the program online we had our first application. There is definite interest in the program and that's great because if we can keep our young people here that will indeed be a benefit to Saskatchewan into the future."

37 bills were introduced during session including the addition of 12 private owned liquor stores and the conversion of another 40 including the Lanigan store.

This was the first legislative session since the election and Harpauer, a clear veteran among the group believes they have the right people on both sides of the table.

"The new MLA's on the government side and on the opposition side were quite involved and quite enthusiastic so that's great to see. I think we have a great group of people on both sides of the legislature."

The Fall sitting will begin on October 19th.
