Hank's Tavern in Bradwell came home a winner from the Saskatchewan Country Music Association awards in Yorkton last weekend.
The nightclub of the year award was presented to the Tavern for the promotion of Saskatchewan country music.
Owner Hank Ukrainetz talked about how it felt when she was called up on to the stage to receive her award.
"I was pretty honoured, I was a little shocked, I didn't think I was gonna win so I didn't have an acceptance speech ready so I just kind of winged it up on stage as I was giving my acceptance speech but yeah I am very honoured."
Ukrainetz added that the awards were very special to be part of.
"Since then I've had some bands join my Facebook group and I've had phone calls about bands coming out to play, and I had some people come up to me at the awards and introduce themselves. It was really neat to get to meet some new people while I was there."
The Tavern will celebrate its 6th anniversary with an event on Saturday night said Ukrainetz, "we've got One Bad Son coming out and their opening band is Wenches and Rogues and they're from Saskatoon as well, they are a seven piece celtic rock band so that's different from what Bradwell has ever seen and then One Bad Son is originally from Saskatoon as well."
Saturday night's show is sold out but Ukrainetz says she has many other bands on the agenda for the coming months.
Lisa Moen and Will Ardell along with others will perform at the Tavern before July, and No Fixed Address is scheduled for a show in September.
