Greenwater Lake Provincial Park got some good news.

It was announced on Monday that the government was putting $800,000 towards upgrading the parks wastewater system.

Parks, Culture and Sport Minister Mark Docherty said the upgrade is being made to ensure long term enjoyment of the park.

"Infrastructure improvements like this, ensure our parks' will be enjoyed for many years to come."

The upgrade means the addition of a new 3-bay sewage disposal station, as well two deteriorating sewage lift stations will be replaced by a larger one to meet the increasing demands.

The upgrade follows another earlier in the year that saw 68 new full-services sites added to the Greenwater Park.

Since 2012 the government has put more the $53 million into the growth and expansion of the province's parks.
