The Humboldt and District Art Gallery an is holding an art journaling course for beginners on Thursday.

Cultural programmer Nicole Myker talks about who should attend.

"People who have an idea about what art journaling is but don't know exactly where to start. This is a great creative workshop in order for you to come down, participate in it, we will create a few pages and really get a grasp of what art journaling is and can be."

They do need at least ten people to sign up, call the Gallery at 682-5226 and hit extension one or two and they can get you signed up for $25 which does cover all your supplies.

Myker explains what that entails.

"You will be getting an art journal, basically a sketch book that we have gotten here and also the ability to experiment with the different materials that we do have such as water colour paints, acrylics, pencil crayons, crayons and some other various items."

Myker added that art journalism is a neat way to stay active in improving your work.

"For anybody who has always been a creative individual who would like to start doing it, even when they are traveling on the road they can practice sketching with, anyone can do that."

The event will last about two hours, the start time is slated for 7:30.
