A simple purchase of gasoline on Tuesday will allow you to help out current and future ball players in Humboldt.

As part of a community fundraiser, the Humboldt Co-op C-Store is raising funds for the Humboldt Softball Association.

"Today is Fuel Good Day, and so what we are doing is giving ten cents a litre back to the Softball Association," said Manager Krissi Barnes.

The fundraiser began when doors opened at 6:00am and continues throughout the day, with Barnes adding that the event helps out with an organization in the city.

"They are having to raise money to build ball diamonds and we are just giving back to help out a little bit," she explained. "It shows that with the Co-op, the money stays in the community and we are community-minded and helping Humboldt out. All that money stays in Humboldt."

Fuel Good Day is taking place across the province, with each Co-op location donating funds to a local organization.

Other recipients around the area include Camp Easter Seals at the Watrous Co-op, the Wynyard Kinettes, and in Lake Lenore, the school's breakfast program will benefit.
