Author Gail Bowen is coming to Humboldt Monday as part of Freedom to Read Week.

The Reid-Thompson Public Library is kicking off the week by welcoming Bowen who will be reading from her work at 7:00pm.

Many of Bowen's novels, which include character Joanne Kilbourn, have been portrayed on television as Canadian movies.

Born and raised in Toronto, Bowen attended the University of Toronto, University of Waterloo, and University of Saskatchewan.

She has previously taught English in the province and was associate professor of English at the First Nations University of Canada before retiring.

Presently, Bowen resides in Regina.
