Safe Communities Humboldt & Area and Colony Chevrolet GMC Buick held a Free Child Restraint Safety Inspection on Saturday.

Sheri Hinz, Executive Director of Safe Communities Humboldt & Area, explained the importance of such events.

"These are an opportunity for parents, caregivers and grandparents to come in and have their seats inspected, and make sure they are properly installed.  Often times, there are lots of questions as to whether children should be rear facing versus forward facing; there's recall notifications and other issues like that to be aware of. These are really great opportunities for people to get educated." She said.

If you missed out on the clinic, it is still possible to have your car seat inspected.

"If there's anybody who has questions or ever wants a seat inspected who wasn't able to attend the clinic, they can contact our office at 682-0705 and we can definitely connect them with a technician in the community," Hinz added.

Safe Communities Humboldt & Area would like to thank the technicians, Colony Chevrolet GMC Buick for hosting the event and providing the service bay for inspections, as well as RBC for sponsoring the event.
