Many Saskatchewan residents would awaken to fog Monday morning as a fog advisory was in effect for the area.

Environment Canada meteorologist Amanda Prysizney told us how far the fog spreads.

"The is pretty widespread and fairly dense fog like it's all over the province as you can see from the fog advisory. Estevan is foggy all the way up to the Battleford's kinda thing, pretty much the eastern, southeastern part of the province has patchy widespread fog."

Prysizney expected that the fog might take longer to dissipate due to the thickness.

"It is fairly thick so it might take a little longer than usual, so around the 2 pm mark is when you will see it clear out completely, and from here on in you will start to see some improvement."

Prysizney also encourages motorists to take care and slow down.
