Hot and relatively dry conditions in the Humboldt area and across parts of the province have led to some fire bans being issued.

Most of the early bans are in place for areas in southern Saskatchewan, however, one rural municipality in the region is getting set to implement a halt.

The RM of Usborne announced on Thursday afternoon that a ban will go into place effective Monday, July 17.

The ban will be in place until further notice.

Rain has been hard to come by in the area over the last few weeks. Only 30 millimetres have been recorded in Humboldt, with the majority of that falling during Monday's thunderstorm.

With no significant rainfall expected anytime soon, more fire bans are likely to come.
