Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) is the leading preventable disorder in Canada.

FASD is an umbrella term describing the physical, mental, behavioral and learning disabilities that can occur in an individual whose mother drank alcohol during pregnancy.

And to get the information out about FASD the Saskatchewan Prevention Institute and the FASD Collaborative put on a presentation on September 10th. The presentation took place at the Reid Thompson Public Library in Humboldt for about 60 Minutes.

Some of the topics covered were how to prevent the disability when having a child. As well as educating those who already have FASD on how to cope with it. The program consisted of many more programs that educated the people of Humboldt and the surrounding area that have FASD with free resources and coffee and snacks were served afterward.
