The Humboldt Farmer's Market kicked off its 14th year Saturday at Misty Gardens.

Heather Crone, Market Manager, says March 3rd is the inaugural day for the group of local vendors who will be selling their wares over the course of the 2018 season.

Crone says thirty-nine markets are scheduled for the coming months, including four special markets planned for Thursdays leading up to long weekends.

Vendors from Humboldt, Lake Lenore, Annaheim, and Carmel participated in the first market of the year, showcasing their preserves, baking, cookies, vegetables, eggs, and handmade sewn products.

"For our small membership, we are very well-diversified. We've got lots of products and lots of unique things," says Crone.

Crone explains Misty Gardens hosted for the first ten years of the market's existence, and the group decided it was a good fit for this season as well because it was a better choice financially for the vendors.

The Humboldt Farmer's Market will run every second Saturday until June, and then every Saturday until Christmas.

Prospective vendors are encouraged to contact the Humboldt Farmer's Market Facebook page for more information.

"We're looking for more members. We'd like to grow our market. We're always looking for new and exciting things. If you have something that they've homemade, home-grown, home-baked, just contact us," says Crone.
