Florals. Knits. Bell sleeves. What do these three things have in common? They are all some of the standout looks from the Humboldt and District Community Services fundraising fashion show, that took place Wednesday evening.

Beyond the style, the primary focus of the event was to raise funds for the HDCS: an organization that helps out many families and individuals in and around the Humboldt community.

Juanine Korte, the executive director of HDCS, says the fashion show “is a fundraiser we host to help support our many programs & services we provide: Supported employment, residential, family & individual support.”

Besides the great fashions on display, funds were raised for the HDCS through a 50-50 draw and many door prizes were also raffled.

Big city style was brought to The Bella Vista Inn in Humboldt, which was host to the show and was all a-buzz as some of the best fall and winter fashions from Cottage Boutiquein Humboldt sashayed down the runway. The show is the 2nd annual of its kind and definitely didn't disappoint fashion lovers of many ages.

Some of the key trends for this season are: “florals, bell sleeves, bomber jackets, lots of knits", according to boutique co-owner, Lorie Menz and her sister, Donna Muench, from Cottage Boutique. The ladies also noted “army green, plums, dusty pink, greys and blacks”, are some of the biggest colours appearing in this season’s showcase of fashion at Cottage Boutique.
