An extreme cold warning has returned to the Humboldt area.
Environment Canada issued the warning early Thursday morning for a 'prolonged period' of very cold wind chills.
Temperatures will drop into the -30's with the extreme wind chill pushing that to -40 at times.
The weather agency says that the wind chill will ease throughout Thursday before redeveloping overnight into Friday morning.
