Englefeld's annual Hogfest weekend gets underway Friday night.

Recreation Commitee Chair Charlie Biemans explains more about what's happening during the 46th annual event.

"We start off with the pulling of the pigs about supper time, we have a wiener roast Friday night, slo-pitch, fireworks and a refreshment gardens. Saturday we continue with the slo-pitch, we have a kid's carnival, penny auction, supper is at 5:30 and a dance at 9pm."

Sunday they continue with a pancake breakfast, mass and a pig drop at 11am.

The annual event started as a fundraiser but has ballooned into an incredible event for the community highlighted by the supper as Biemans explained.

"I think the fact that we're roasting 12 pigs on a spit at once is very interesting to see, the meal is awesome."

Supper is $15 for adults, 10 and under is $8, preschoolers are free.
