If patterns hold, the Humboldt area is in for a warming period.

A break from clouds and single degree temperatures appears to be in store for a large portion of Saskatchewan.

As soon as Thursday, temperatures are expected to rise to double digits, with sunshine glowing over the Humboldt area.

Environment Canada's John-Paul Cragg says that although some light rain may fall Tuesday, things are looking up.

"One big change that is happening now, is that we have a period of almost certain dryness all the way through to the end of the week and into the weekend," he explained. "There will be atleast five days where models are showing with almost certainty there being no rain."

The sunshine is likely to make it's way in later on Wednesday, with the rest of the week shaping up nicely, according to Cragg.

"Sunny skies, a mix of sun and cloud for Wednesday, with temperatures starting to rise up to above the double digit mark," he said. "By the end of the week, they will be getting up into temperatures maybe around 15 degrees."

Double digit highs were scarce in October, with only four days reaching atleast 10 degrees, and only one of those days coming after October 3.

Comparatively, in 2015, there were 21 days of double digit marks in October.
