Humboldt residents are invited to get active as Drop-in Sports return for another year.

Basketball, Volleyball, Floor Hockey, and Pickle Ball will be available to play until May Long weekend of 2017.

Colby McClelland is the Community Development Coordinator for the City of Humboldt.

He describes what sports will be played this year.

"So this year's Basketball will be played on Mondays from 8 until 10, and that's at Humboldt Collegiate. Floor Hockey will be Wednesdays from 8 until 10 at St. Augustine School, Volleyball will be Thursdays from 8 until 10 at HCI, and Pickle ball will be on Thursdays from 2 until 4 at Jubilee Hall at the Uniplex, and also on Sundays from 7 until 9 at HCI."

McClelland explains why the City of Humboldt has these programs.

"I think the number one reason is to get excercise, a couple hours of competitive sports. Also to learn new sports and potentially to meet new people."

McClelland describes some of the rules of Drop-in sports.

"First of all, those who wish to participate in Drop-In sports need to be at least 16 years of age, the cost to participate is $4 per person, participants may also use their leisure pass or purchase a Drop-In Sport punch card from the Uniplex."
