An announcement Friday by the Federal Government may mean more saving for those looking to buy a home.

The Federal Government announced they are raising the minimum down payment on homes worth more than five hundred thousand dollars to ten per cent, while anything below that mark will still remain at 5 per cent.

The Association of Saskatchewan Realtors isn't overly concerned about the move as there are only 8 markets in the country with an average price above half a million dollars, none of which are in Sasaktchewan.

As for the impact the change will have here in Humboldt, 10 listings in the Humboldt area are over five hundred thousand dollars.
