It's an opportunity to test drive a brand new vehicle and also give back to a local organization, as well as a western Canada crisis.

Discovery Ford is hosting a Drive 4UR Community event on Saturday in support of the First Westminster Scouts of Humboldt, as well as Fort McMurray relief.

Between 10:00am and 4:00pm, Discovery Ford will donate $20 for every test drive to the Scouts, and also donate $20 to Red Cross in support of Fort McMurray.

Scouts Leader Aaron Behiel says they are fundraising to take a trip next year.

"We're fundraising for a jamboree in 2017 in Nova Scotia," he noted. "We have about ten kids who want to go. It's about $2,000 a kid to send them, so we're hoping we can get everybody out to drive and get atleast $6,000 towards that."

There will also be a BBQ, and the Scouts will be selling some of their famed homemade items.

Behiel added that if they reach their goal of $6,000 for Saturday's event, it would put them past the halfway mark.

"We just started about a month ago. We have about two to three thousand dollars raised. Every event helps. Some of them bigger than others."

The group has lined up other events in the future to help with their fundraising initiatives.
