Dancers from all over have gathered here in Humboldt to be apart of the On Stage Dance Festival.

The Humboldt Uniplex was swarming with colourful costumes and loud music this weekend.

Dancers from all categories were here to show off and attempt to place and earn a medal, or a golden ticket.

we caught up with the busy ladies that are here to adjudicate the event this weekend.

Regan Calicetto, Vancouver BC, Nancy Pezzo, Toronto ON, and Sheri Green Cranbrook BC, are the ones to impress.

They are here to judge and give feedback to all the dancers that take the stage throughout the competition.

Regan Calicetto explains what the job of the adjudicator entails,

"We will mark and judge the dancers that go on stage according to age level, abilities, and each style, and its based on technique, performance level, all sorts of stuff. We look at everything as a whole, you know performance level, technique, music, costume, spacing, lines, there's different levels, pictures, all sorts of stuff, It's not just based on one thing; were not just looking at technique or performance its all around a full performance."

Sheri Green added,

"It also depends on the style your adjudicating. If your adjudicating musical theater it's going to be slightly different then if your adjudicating a ballet piece, we still look at technique, but your looking at performance value as well as entertainment value. But the underlying should have base technique of some sort, and realistically the base technique for all dance is ballet."

The dancers who impress not only have a chance to get a medal they could win a golden ticket to perform today at 3:30.

Green talked about what the Golden Ticket Show features today starting at 3:30.

"The golden ticket is dances that as adjudicators we have chosen, and lots of times we choose together, we have good discussions about it, because it's something unique, entertaining, and something the audience is going to love."

We also had a chance to quickly sit down with a few dancers and ask them how it was going so far.
