Two exhibits made from Humboldt residents will be on display at the Humboldt Gallery throughout June.

Humboldt Collegiate Institute graduate Avery Lukan and his award-winning chair design will be appearing, according to Gallery Supervisor Jean Price.

"He made it as part of his program of study at Humber College and it won first place in the chair category at the design show there," noted Price. "We've got it on display in the gallery and the process of how he made that."

Humber College is a polytechnic institute in Toronto.

In addition to Lukan's work, current students at HCI will have their masterpieces on display throughout the month.

The Photography 30 class has entered some pieces that display Canada's beauty.

"They have been working with Dawn Goosen to put together a show called the Canadian Personality," said Price.  "They're looking at landscapes throughout Canada and they have put together a beautiful show of their photography as well."

An opening reception for the two new exhibits is being held on Wednesday beginning at 7:00pm.

Price says that being able to display work done by young people from the city is a great thing.

"For us, it's a privilege to be able to support these artists as they develop their skills and talent and career," she explained. "Coming from a place like Humboldt where the arts are becoming much more prevalent, it is excellent to see the next generation of artists be nurtured."

She cited Lukan as a perfect example of an up and coming artist with him continuing his studies through art.

The two exhibits will be on display until June 30.
