The Carrot River Valley Watershed Association has two workshops coming up covering a wide variety of topics pertaining to farm related concerns.

Their first of two is taking place on Wednesday in Tisdale, Watershed Manager Lynne Roszell says this session focuses more on managing water on agricultural land.

"The information presented in this workshop will address water management topics specifically related to crop production. That's one that's probably geared more towards crop producers but it also have information that's relevant for anyone who is involved in water management. Some of the Rural Municipality councilors may also be interested."

Registrations have technically closed for Wednesday's workshop but Roszell stressed they wouldn't turn anyone away if they signed up Tuesday.

The deadline to sign up for the January 28th session in Melfort is Friday. Roszell explains more what that event will cover.

"Invasive weed management and some of the programs that are available for that, we're going to have a local RM weed inspector come and talk about their perspective on invasive weed management within their RM. We're going to have a presentation about weed identification and then we're also going to have presentations about weed control in pastures and ditches."

The CRVWA reaches as far south as Humboldt and as far north as the RM of Hudson Bay and east of Nipawin to the Manitoba border.
