Humboldt City Council gathered for their lone July meeting on Monday.

Among the items discussed were the results of the city's 'Choose Your Own Adventure' Canada Day celebrations, which saw over 300 people attend free mini golf throughout the day.

Over 200 people visited Kemway Lanes to take part in discounted bowling.

The city will begin paying for construction costs of the new REACT landfill this year. Council approved the payments to be made on an annual basis at $181,939, which equates to $909,695 over five years.

Finance Director Joe Day outlined the city's financial position by sharing details of the 2016 year-end. There is an anticipated surplus, with council to determine for to manage those funds.

The audited financial statement and statement of public accounts were also addressed and approved.

PARTNERS Family Services made their plans official for the third annual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event. It will take place on Wednesday, September 6.
