If you are being naughty on Humboldt's road ways this winter, know that your traffic violation will be going to a good cause.

The City of Humboldt announced their Tickets for Charity campaign has returned for another year.

Formerly the Toys for Tickets drive, the one month campaign sees parking ticket or traffic violation fines converted into a donation to a local organization.

Community Development Coordinator Colby McClelland says that funds will be going to the Humboldt Soup Kitchen,

"I am very proud that the Humboldt Soup Kitchen is once again our charity for this year," he stated. "They provide an excellent service to our community and we cannot thank them enough for their work."

McClelland adds that people seem a bit more accepting of their ticket knowing that it will be going towards a local charity during the holidays.

He says that they are hoping to reach a goal of $1,000 to help support the Soup Kitchen's annual Christmas Day dinner.

"No one should eat alone on Christmas and this campaign will help support those less fortunate during the holiday season."

Those keen on landing on the nice list for 2017 can still take part in the program by giving a general donation to the campaign which can be done at City Hall.

The campaign runs until December 15.
