We have had an earlier start to the Spring season with the mild temperatures so many people are getting into their yards for their post Winter clean up.

Once again this year the City of Humboldt is not offering their compost pick-up program but Kidsport is here to assist people with their yard waste.

On Saturday, April 30th the committee will pick up waste for a minimal donation of $20.

"We're going to go around and pick up whatever compost material, leaves, grass, etc. whatever clean up you've done this Spring or what you have left from last Fall and pick that up and haul that to the landfill for you" explained chair Mike Ulriksen.

It's very simple, you can call the Uniplex at 682-2597 and give staff your address and an explanation as to where your waste will be. Kidsport did this in the Fall and had great success. Many residents simply give their credit card over the phone to staff. Their donation was taken off and a taxable receipt can be sent out.

"Here's my address, I've got my donation here for you and we will do the rest," Ulriksen continued. "We will come pick up everything whether you are home or out somewhere else. If it's in the back alley we will just pull up, throw it on the truck and haul it to the dump for you. No fuss, no waste of your time."

They ask that you call by 5 o'clock on Friday, April 29th so they can plan their route accordingly.

Kidsport is a non-profit group that raises money to get kids that are underprivileged to get into sports.
