The Humboldt and District Gallery celebrated five years of artists, performances, and concerts by hosting its first new show of 2019 on Thursday, December 11th.

The Gallery has seen 588 artists' work showcased within its walls, in addition to thousands of participants and show-goers passing through the doors. It started its five year anniversary off by showcasing a quilt made from 4444 bags of tea.

Jennifer Fitzpatrick, Curator with the Humboldt and District Museum and Gallery, talks about the key to their sustainability over the past five years.

"I think it's really been the strong community involvement and volunteer support. As well, engaging with artists on all levels far and wide was key, the community outreach really helped to make things well engaged."

She also went into detail about how amazing it is for the gallery to bring in so many quality artists.

"I think we were even surprised ourselves at those numbers, but overall we are thrilled with the high number of showcases and the variety of it all."

The Humboldt and District Gallery wants to thank the community for its heavy support of the arts and looks forward to bringing in more great artists and shows for 2019.
