Comic Con is back at the Elgar Petersen Arena this year at the Sizzler.

It will take place from 12pm-6pm on the floor surface of the EPA on Saturday.

Organizer Jeff Burton says it's much bigger and better this year.

"Last year we had 30 booths there and I thought that was great, I had no idea what to expect. This year we're already up to 40 booths and we've had people back out so we could have been even bigger yet. This is going be a lot more stuff for people to see, take part in and find some cool stuff."

This is the third year Comic Con has been part of the weekend's schedule.

Burton is excited for a few new attractions during the afternoon.

"We're going to do sketch duels and that's where artists face off in a chunk of time to draw specific characters. I've got two groups that are going to be doing it, so three artists at a time. Some live drawing right in front of you, there is going to be lots of cool stuff and lots of fun people that are going to be there."

It's free to attend.

Saturday's events kick off with a pancake breakfast at 8:30 at Civic Park put on by the Vintage Club. The parade begins at 9:30, the midway opens at 12pm. The strongman competition starts at 1pm, that's been moved to the curling rink. The JCI demolition derby is slated for a 4 o'clock start, the 46th annual event is being held at the airport this year. Rides are available from the Humboldt Mall and Office Experts parking lots starting at 3pm.
