The Humboldt Fire Department parked outside of Humboldt Sobey's Saturday for a good charitable cause which will be of great benefit to many in the province of Saskatchewan.

The Humboldt and District Kinettes were hosting the 3rd Annual Humboldt Telemiracle Ladderlift at the grocery store. The Kinettes were there to raise funds for the Telemiracle Foundation, which benefits Saskatchewan residents who apply for assistance with covering medically-related costs such as wheelchairs, travel expenses, etc.

"Telemiracle fundraises province-wide, and affects province-wide," says Kinettes Treasurer, Carol Pratt.

"I know there are many families in Humboldt and district that have benefitted from Telemiracle. It's been benefitting Saskatchewan for 42 years, and it's something that's really beneficial to the whole province."

The Kinettes were accepting donations in any monetary amount to help the cause, but visitors willing to make a donation of $142 were able to climb the big ladder on the fire truck. Every two-dollar (or more) donation received a "helping hand" card to post on the window at Sobey's. Larger donations are eligible for a tax receipt.

The annual provincial fundraising event is being held March 3rd and 4th in Regina, says Pratt.
