You may have seen a large group of people holding up signs at Civic Park Sunday afternoon.

The event was part of Life Chain Sunday and focused on pro-life values.

One of the organizers, Glenda Lees, explains more.

"They'll see people standing up with signs, and they'll see people with their heads bowed. It's supposed to be silent, it's not supposed to be violent, it's a very peaceful demonstration to show that life values are very important to us."

She explains more on why an event like this is important to have.

"We really want to show love with people who are struggling with these things. That could be a young girl who finds she is pregnant and she doesn't want to be, we want to support people like that and show them love. We also want to support the people who are in a situation where they are dying, it's difficult, they are grieving, and we want to be able to support them in a natural death."

Participants in the event held signs up and bowed their heads in silent prayer for one hour.

"It's Life Chain Sunday, which is an international event," explained Lees. "Humboldt is just one of many, many communities all over the world that are doing this."

The event was put on by Carlton Trail Pro-Life.
