Humboldt City Council met on Monday December 14th and have released all of the meeting briefs.

Councillor Weyland made a presentation to congratulate Rick Cadrain on his 25 years of service on which he received a Saskatchewan Protective Services Medal award.

The Humboldt and District Museum and Gallery board were also recognized for their work on the 16th annual Festival of Wreaths.

Information was accepted from Mid-Sask Municipal Alliance Board meetings, Public Works Utility Committee meeting, SUMA programs, Saskatchewan worker's Compensation Board, and Humboldt Multi-Purpose Facility Feasibility Study.

There was also a public hearing in regards to two city bylaws. The borrowing of funds to finance the purchase of a columbarium, as approved by council in the 2015 budget, and a bylaw to allow for the borrowing of funds to finance this year's water and sewer main replacement projects. There was no written correspondence and no one was in attendance to speak to either of the proposed bylaws.

An increase to Discovery Ford's service contract for the operation of the mobility van was approved. A 6% increase will be in effect January 1st.

Council also approved a utility rate increase of 9% that will go into effect on January 1st. Fee adjustments were made to the cemetery bylaw for 2016 as well.
