CIBC customers in Watson are going to be without a home branch come November.

The banking giant has stated that they will shutter the Watson branch November 25th due to low business transactions and dwindling numbers.

"Any time we look at closing a banking centre, it's a decision that we take very carefully,"  Director, External Communications and Media Relations Caroline Van Hasselt said in an emailed statement. "In the case of our Watson Banking Centre, we have seen low business volumes, which have been declining in recent years."

"While many clients in Watson are already banking online or by phone, our team in Watson will be spending time with clients in the coming weeks to help them learn more about these options for their everyday banking," Van Hasselt added.

A public meeting will be held on July 27th at the New Horizon Centre that will allow clients to speak with representatives about the changes.

All banking information will be transferred to the Humboldt location.
