Charges have been laid against an 83-year-old man following a two-vehicle collision on Tuesday.

The collision took place at the intersection of Highway 5 and 41, a few kilometres east of the entrance to Saskatoon.

Police discovered that the southbound minivan on Highway 41 failed to yield when it was attempting to turn east on Highway 5.

The van then collided with a semi that was also travelling east. Both occupants of the van were taken to hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the van received a charge of failing to yield right of way.

The driver of the semi was not injured.

Traffic was detoured for a short amount of time as there was a diesel fuel leak.
