A Humboldt man has pleaded guilty to 13 counts of operating a vehicle dealer without a license.

Kyle Martin appeared in court on November 27 where he made his guilty plea, resulting in a fine of $18,200.

Last year, the Financial and Consumer Affairs Authority had received information about unlicensed sales activity from Martin's business, Marty's Auto Sales.

The act, known as curbing, is someone who sells vehicles without a license, which is illegal according to the province.

Martin was twice asked to stop selling vehicles without a license, which the FCAA says he did not.

Since the activity was first picked up in July 2016, the dealership has now become licensed.
