Steve McLellan, CEO of the Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce made a stop in Humboldt on Monday.

McLellan was here to join the Humboldt and District Chamber of Commerce for a luncheon, where he talked about the state of the Province and how to make the Humboldt area better.

He adds that Humboldt is in pretty good shape right now.

"People in Humboldt and area need to know, and if you don't already, I hope that you do, but if you don't you need to know this is a great community. It has had a long, very prosperous heritage, and the future of this Province is tied to the success of cities like Humboldt, and the commitment of it's individuals which we've seen has unwavered in many years. So congratulations people of Humboldt and District, because you got a great town and it looks to be even brighter in the future."

Although there were similarities between this luncheon and the Transform SK session held last week, McLellan explained the difference between the two.

"Today's session was particularly for the Chamber members of Commerce. The Transform SK is a partnership we're involved in, and is one that has great results and it talks about dramatic change in the community and the Province overall. What we talked about today was the opportunities for change within the Chamber to continue to build upon it's exceptional strengths in so many areas, and to take the business community and the attitude of the community and elevate it."

McLellan touches on a few more points that was talked about in the meeting.

"There's lots of ideas on a whole, across the education, health care, and political sectors, which is no surprise. We heard about infrastructure, we hear about things like, and this has been consistent in almost every meeting, that Saskatchewan doesn't tell it's story well enough. We've got everything from the Northern Lakes and Rivers where are the Land of Living Skies, yet most people haven't been passed Prince Albert, even our own residents."

The Luncheon also featured members of the Chamber making suggestions within the group in order to make the city and district a better place to live, work and invest.
