A technology in agriculture workshop is being held Wednesday in Melfort hosted by the Carrot River Valley Watershed Authority.

Agri-Environment Technician Charlotte Gayler explains that they routinely hold events to enhance water and environmental sustainability in the east central region.

"We put on many different workshops through out the year that target producers as well as different industry professionals for the main overall goal of promoting sustainable agriculture within the Watershed."

She says they have a full slate of speakers and topics that will be covered.

"There's going to be the effects of phosphorous fertilizer application for various methods of application, we're going to speak a little bit about the farm stewardship program. Different funding opportunities and then precision agriculture services as well as pesticide rinse aid biobeds for the economical and safe method of pesticide rinse aid disposal and the the use of different apps in agriculture."

The CRVWA covers the region from Humboldt to well past Carrrot River in the north up to the Manitoba border.
