Students at the Watson School will once again experience their industrials arts studies next school year.

The Watson SCC hosted a fundraising BBQ on Friday, selling hamburgers, drinks, and dessert to the public, with the help of Pharmasave and the Fire Department.

Rhoda Ehlert, SCC chairperson, says the afternoon was a success: a total of $1, 624 was raised for the school Carpentry Program.

The program introduces students, grade 6 and up, to carpentry and industrial arts, and the proceeds will help it to continue in its second year this fall.

"They need tools and supplies, so it's a worthwhile cause, " says Ehlert.
