The Melfort constituency will soon have a new Member of the Legislative Assembly.

After being sworn-in as Premier on Friday, Scott Moe announced a date for three by-elections in the province.

Among the by-elections that will take place on March 1 is the vote in Melfort to replace Kevin Phillips, who passed away last year.

The Saskatchewan Party nominated Todd Goudy for the vacant seat, while the New Democrats have Lorne Schroeder running.

No other nominees have been announced thus far.

By-elections will will also take in Kindersley to replace Bill Boyd, and Swift Current, to replace Brad Wall.
