Almost 30 business owners, non-profit directors and other people vested in downtown Humboldt took in a window workshop last week.

The event was coordinated by the downtown Humboldt Business Improvement District. Coordinator Erin Standish explains that the idea came up through the work of their downtown revitalization plan.

"Through out the study, one of the things that had come up months ago was the idea of using windows within businesses to create a draw for people to come to the community and to help business owners promote themselves."

Standish adds they were very happy with the turnout.

"Our goal in our invite went out to anyone who has a window. Even if you did not think it was something you'd ever consider before, there may be an opportunity to use your window to better promote your business."

The task now for the attendees is to implement what they learned.

"The feedback was great," Standish added. "Brandon(Gay) was a phenomenal presenter, he was very engaged and on point. He was aware of the businesses that were there and had already looked at each of their windows individually and gave them some feedback. As he was walking out more than one business owner said we should have him back for some individual consultations."

Standish couldn't say if that will transpire but she is looking forward to what ideas come to fruition in the days leading up to Streetfest 2017.
