Safe Communites Humboldt are making a trip to Bruno this Sunday for a car seat inspection clinic.

The clinic will take place from 10 o'clock AM until 12:30.

Shari Hinz from Safe Communites Humboldt describes what the technicians will be looking for.

"There's basically 4 categories for sizing. For example, rear facing seats for infants 4-35 pounds, forward facing seats 22-65 pounds, and booster seats for children over 40 pounds and there's a number of guidelines that our technicians can help them follow when they're making the transistion, say, from an infant seat to a booster seat, when to have children forward facing, and so on."

Hinz talks about how the organization tries to spread the awareness in several communities.

"We always try to do clinics, not only in Humboldt but in the region we serve as well. So we were able to work with the group that was doing the organizing for (the Bruno Show and Shine), and we're able to hold the inspection clinic in conjunction with the Show and Shine coming up."

Hinz talks about the car seat inspection happening in Bruno on Sunday a little more.

"On Sunday, July 24th, we actually have a car seat clinic taking place. A child restraint inspection clinic that will be happening during their Show and Shine event. We will be conducting that starting at 10 AM running until 12:30 PM"

Safe Communites Humboldt will be running the inspection, as they aim to do as many as they can over the course of the year.
