A pair of young curlers from Bruno got to experience all sides of the Brier in Regina.

Tory White and Camilla Saretzky were selected to attend a day at the Brier through SaskEnergy's Future Stars program.

"Our curling coach told us about this contest, so we entered our names and why we enjoyed curling," said White on how they were picked.

Curling is fairly new to the girls, who have been participating in the sport for two years. While Bruno doesn't have ice, they are able to make the trek to Humboldt to play on Tuesday's.

The two were selected to attend the Brier on March 6, with White being selected to be a flag bearer for the morning draw, which she says was a highlight.

"It was really cool to be on the ice surface and hold the flags, and I got to meet Team Saskatchewan, so that was really cool."

After the morning draw, Saretzky says that they were paired up with a team for the afternoon draw.

"We got to spend time with the Northwest Territories and Jamie Koe's team," she said.

She says they also were able to tour TSN's production truck and were shown how everything works to put the broadcast together.

Among the unexpected highlights from the day for White and Saretzky was meeting defending Canadian and World champion Brad Gushue.

"We got a picture with him and got his autograph, so that was awesome," White said.

The girls added their thanks to their parents for taking them to experience the day, as well as their curling coach Corrinne Arnold, and all their curling teammates.
