On the ice, the Humboldt Broncos are looking for fireworks.

Off the ice, they are hoping to stabilize their finances and turn a profit.

Part of that includes rebuilding a season ticket base that - as of late August - was $40,000 behind from the 2016-17 season.

With that, the organization is canvassing for one more big push ahead of the new season.

"Fans can go down to the office or call in to get season tickets," explained Business Manager Chris Beaudry. "We also have a season ticket blitz which will be challenging businesses around town to buy a number of season tickets and they can challenge anyone they want moving forward."

Beaudry, who also serves as an assistant coach on the team, says that they are looking to create an electric atmosphere at the rink this winter.

"There is a lot of new things going on with the team, including new players coming in. We're really going to push to win the division, so we want to see a full rink to begin the season and go from there."

While the number announced at the club's annual general meeting has come down some since the Broncos know they need to keep a presence in the community to continue long-term existence.

"Financially for the team, we know it's our fans and sponsors who keep us alive in Humboldt and we wouldn't be able to continue doing this without them."

Beaudry noted that they are still offering their 'buy one get one' season ticket deal, where, with the purchase of an adult season ticket, you get a free child season ticket.

Season ticket holders also gain access to the Broncos' two home preseason games for free on Wednesday and Friday.
