The four schools in Humboldt will have some extra funds to serve up towards their school sports program thanks to Boston Pizza Humboldt.

Boston Pizza recently raised $8354 to provide to an organization of their choice, in the end, it was the four schools in Humboldt who will all share a piece of the pie.

"It was raised through various things strictly through the store here in Humboldt. We had a few raffles for some prizes that people could purchase, or people could donate two dollars and purchase one of the purple hearts that we hang up. With those funds, we were able to raise over  $8000. We ended up going with the sports programs for the schools and they are able to use that money for whatever they like and whatever they are in need of within their schools for their sports activities," said Shelby Lees, with Boston Pizza Humboldt.

The donation is to be split between the four schools in Humboldt

"Donations such as these are hugely important to all of the schools in Humboldt. There's a number of extracurricular opportunities that schools get, and all of them come with some form of expenses. Whether it be equipment, travel, or uniforms, we want to continue to provide as many great opportunities as we can for the students. Definitely, a donation such as this one, for all four of the schools, is going to go a long way to have our extracurricular and sports programs strong for years to come," said Clayton Parobec, Principal of Humboldt Public School.

Serving up pizzas is Boston Pizza's specialty. However, serving the community isn't far behind.
