Cars and Humboldt residents go hand in hand.

The crowd was a good one, well over 150 strong. The paint was glistening, and there were numerous prizes to take home for the best cars and trucks, as voted by the masses. And oh boy, did the owners ever produce.

Lines of cars surrounded Lube Stop here in Humboldt on Sunday, June 16th, with models dating back all the way back to the forties and fifties, and makes from everyone's most beloved brands.

Most evident from the afternoon though was the sheer passion and pride the owners of the vehicles had. There were gearheads from all corners of the province, and the free BBQ was a surefire way to make the crowd grow even larger.

Chad Bauer and Jean-Marc Richard are Co-founders of Iguana Racing, a small startup race team. At Iguana Racing, they may not be a fully professional team, but their passion for cars has brought them a tight-knit group that is dedicated to promoting learning and fun throughout cars. They each gave us reasons why the meet was an important one for Humboldt's car community.

"My favourite part of coming out to car shows has got to be seeing all the different cars and people and learning all the different histories of everything" Bauer commented.

"(These shows) make it all worth it, because we can show all of the many small jobs that make these cars such huge projects. All the long nights finally pay off."

As well Richard is thankful for the connections it has made him.

"Iguana Racing wouldn't be more than just a dream without helping hands. Cory Ward of Haywire Acres, a repair shop beside ours, really helped get us started, and is always helping us out with any problems we face. Connections like that are hard to find anywhere else."

The love for cars and vehicles alike is clearly shown by the support seen at the show today.
