Humboldt snowmobiling enthusiasts got a chance to catch a glimpse of what was at the Humboldt Vintage Club's Snowmobile Rally.

This year, the Naicam Snowblasters assisted with the Rally.

Daniel Hinz is Vice President of the Naicam Snowblasters.

He describes the different machines on display.

"This morning so far we have a 1965 ski-doo, ranging all the way up to 1980s, lot's out here so far. Lots of models, there were over 100 snowmobile builders back in the day."

Hinz explains the lack of snow did create some difficulty.

"When you're out there and you're looking, there's a lot of dirt showing through, but we're right across from the lake here at the Vintage club and we can get on the lake and there's still some snow, and the guys can bounce around. Their backs will be sore Monday morning but that's fine."

Craig Poncelet is the treasurer of the Humboldt Vintage Club.

He talks about the importance of the event.

"It's keeping the heritage alive. If we didn't have events like this, a lot of these snow machines would be tucked away somewhere that nobody would ever get to see, or never get to ride. People bring them out, they like to show what they have and it's kind of neat to see the history of what they were, and now what they are."

Plans are in place to make the Rally an annual event.
