A Hot Dog Lunch was held Wednesday outside of Big Brothers Big Sisters in Humboldt to celebrate Big Brothers Big Sisters Month as well as their new location and staff.

All the proceeds from the lunch go towards the Big Brothers Big Sisters program, says Development Coordinator Jodie Hergott.

"We will use it for sponsoring some of our current programs, our in-school mentoring, and our matches. Hopefully, we'll be able to keep those matches going and give them activities and a nice place to come and do their activities in our office."

With September being Big Brothers Big Sisters Month all across Canada, Hergott tells us more about what they are doing this month.

"We are focusing on our in-school mentoring programs. Once a week over the lunch hour at the school, you get paired up with a Little. You make a difference in their life by coming to hang out with them at the school grounds, whether it's playing games or tossing around the football. It's spending some time with them and making them feel special."

She adds that there are currently 17 littles in Humboldt in need of a Big, those interested in becoming a Big can call their office at 682 2829.
