The Bethany Pioneer Village in Middle Lake received a 20,000 dollar grant from Farm Credit Canada.

Sharon Carter says that the money will help fund the "Can You Open The Door For Me" Fundraiser, which will help put automatic doors at the entrance to the Birch Manor.

"We have a lot of residents that rely on help with their mobility, like using walkers or canes or even wheelchairs."

She adds what other fundraisers they have upcoming.

"Right now we're getting ready to start working with our residents to put together our Christmas wreaths, which we will be selling both online on our website and Facebook, but also at an upcoming craft sale on December 4."

They currently have collected about $50,000 of their $170,000 goal.
