Adversity is something every human being faces on a day to day basis, and Tracy Hage has overcome more adversity than anyone could imagine.

Hage is a Childhood Educator with the Humboldt and District Community Services and says she has a many different Responsibilities.

"I make sure it's safe for the kids and watch for them to have fun and learn through play, and I guess it's just natural for me to work there."

The full-hearted volunteer was diagnosed with cancer at 5 years of age and as a result of the radiation treatment, she now suffers from a learning disability.

Growing up, Hage has always looked up to one Canadian in particular, Terry Fox. Hage has always been fighting the disease of Cancer in any way she can, whether it be supporting Terry Fox's cause or taking part in the Relay For Life. The 24-year-old is now a survivor of brain cancer.

Now the survivor, Tracy Hage, has been recognized by the Saskatchewan Association of Rehabilitation Centers with a journey award to recognize her inspirational tale to those who suffer from the negative effects of cancer.

"There are some things for people with disabilities or have struggles and are harder to do things, but there are always things you can do, and there are different ways that you can achieve things for people with disabilities," said Hage.
