The Bar West 4-H Beef Club is holding their achievement day Friday afternoon at Moellenbeck Farms near Englefeld.

General Leader Richard Moellenbeck explains more about the afternoon.

"There will be classes in the afternoon so the public can come and watch. The kids all own their own steers or female projects, the steers will be sold on July 11th up in Melfort at a regional show and sale."

Some classes the nine 4-H club members will showcase are team grooming, showmanship plus their market steer classes.

Moellenbeck says you will get to see a great partnership between the member and their animal.

"They usually have their calves by the end of December and from then on they work with their calves all the way through until the time they sell them. It's very committed, they have to feed that animal twice a day and care for it, they're very committed to their projects."

The event begins around 1 o'clock. Moellenbeck Farms is about two kilometres east and five kilometres north of Englefeld.
