As work progresses on the renewed ball diamonds at Centennial Park, the members of the Humboldt Ball Development Board continue their work alongside community members and donors. The goal of establishing a facility to act as a concession, washroom facility, storage and indoor batting cages came closer to reality this week.

The Board has been offering businesses and organizations the chance to sponsor diamonds and home run banners to support the cause. Ducks Unlimited Humboldt is the latest organization to commit to the banner blitz with its presentation of $1,000 to the Board. Brett and Kaitlin Suer presented the check on behalf of Ducks Unlimited Humboldt to Board member Megan MacInnis.

The Board also celebrated the installation of banners on Diamond 4 which will now be known as “The Co-op Diamond”. Jonathan Walby, Megan MacInnis, and Trent Ries joined Humboldt Co-op General Manager Brent Walker on July 28.

MacInnis notes that there are still sponsorship opportunities available for diamonds at Centennial Park. Those interested in sponsoring a diamond or a banner can contact any member of the Humboldt Ball Development Board.
