Arts Humboldt is looking for local talent that will have a chance to win a $2,500 recording studio contract.

They will take nominations until September 15th.

President Tanya Schuler explains more about their Sound Check Showcase.

"We're pretty excited to get this going once again. We're looking for local talent, there will be one winner who will receive a recording session in a studio with a producer and hopefully get them some radio airplay on 107.5 Bolt FM."

Entrants must reside in Humboldt or the surrounding region and be at least 16 years-old, they are focusing on single performers as well.

"This year we're really happy to have Randy Wood from Saskatoon on board. He will do the recording session and also be one of our judges at the final Showcase show that will be held on November 6th and help pick our winner."

Schuler explains how you can submit your video.

"We ask that you submit a video of yourself singing and playing your instrument if that's what you do or if you have some background music playing you go to our website and upload your video."

There will be five finalists chosen to battle it out for the recording contract.
