Arts Humboldt has received some funds from Golden West Radio to continue to promote local music.

AH President Tanya Schuler says they are thankful the $3,000 cheque.

"We are, it's a great boost to our organization to receive these funds and we thank your organization very much for keeping us on your list of donations."

This money will be earmarked for their upcoming Sound Cheque Showcase that they are still accepting entries for until the 15th of September.

"This money is actually directed to promoting Canadian talent in our area specifically," Schuler added.

The winner of the Showcase will receive a $2,500 recording studio contract in Saskatoon.

Golden West Radio has given to AH in the past which has assisted to grow local talent, something Schuler admits is great to see.

"It's amazing to see local names busy and on the go, that's what it's all about. We want to keep those artists playing and get their names out there."

You can hear more from Schuler below in her interview with Bolt FM's Clark Stork.
